Yves Ringer was born in 1966 in Brussels. An author, screenwriter, and producer, he co-founded the production company Ring Prod with his brother Olivier, which creates films rooted in everyday Belgian life, blending social comedy with humanism.
As producer and co-screenwriter of all their films, Yves Ringer has created a trilogy of feature films for young audiences— *Pom the Foal*, *On Tiptoes*, and *The Birds of Passage* —which has won some twenty international awards, includingthe ECFA Award for Best European Children’s Film twice. The Ringer duo also wrote the social comedy *Les Gentils* (2022).
A writer and illustrator, Yves Ringer has published collections of poetry—including one that won the Olivier Strelli Prize—books about Brussels, a short novel, and numerous cartoons in the Belgian press.
